Forest Schools

Tking part in a forest schools program encourages children to:- work as part of a team build confidence and self-esteem explore all senses develop communication skills get fit and healthy ...and much, much more!

But it is not only the children that benefit.

The teachers, leaders or adults involved achieve valuable experience in leading education outside the classroom.

The local community also benefit as children are encouraged to make use and care for their local environment - hopefully reducing future involvement in anti-social behaviour.

Newtownabbey Borough Council are delighted to be able to work with the Northern Ireland Forest Schools Association and hope to create more opportunities for schools to be involved in this program.
