Biodiversity - it's in our Nature.

It’s in our nature is a new campaign which aims to help everyone in Northern Ireland to understand and enjoy the whole variety of natural life around us - our biodiversity.

Biodiversity literally includes the whole variety of animals, plants, fungus - and that even includes people! It includes everything from your back garden to the rain forests of the Amazon and everything in between. Importantly, many species are dependent on each other, so if one suffers, so do many others.

As well as making our natural world more interesting and varied, having a rich biodiversity actually keeps our whole world healthy. It is vital to the health of our planet that individual species and their relationships with each other are protected and preserved.

In Northern Ireland, some animals and plants are under threat or in need of extra support but there is also a rich diversity of species to celebrate. To find out how you can enjoy our local biodiversity and protect it, click here.
